MYSTIC MANDALA RITUAL PLAYSHOP

The Ritual Playshop is a workshop Dr. Budd recently envisioned to synthesize various healing and ritual practices into a single joy-full experience.  As she is a bit of a medicine woman at heart, she has been yearning to bring more of the ancient power of ritual to her students and clients.  This workshop is planned to coordinate with moon cycles, equinoxes, and/or solstices.  The tone is reverent as well as whimsical, playful but with a serious intention for healing--the dark integrated into light.  Classes within the workshop include "Introduction to Ritual and Elements of Ritual", "Moon Yoga", "Circle Dance" (dance/movement with a hula hoop), "Mystic Movement" (expressive dance practice, generally planned for the new moon), "Mandala Creation" (art therapy as a group to be used in the final ritual), and a "Full Moon Ritual".  Creative elements for personal healing are encouraged, such as costumes, art, and poetry.  The workshop is designed to occur over 5-6 consecutive weeks in 2 hour class segments with the same core participants in each session.  This playshop is a celebration of magic, mystery, fantasy, and the ancient + personally enlivened art of creative healing whimsy.

INTEGRAL YOGA with NISCHALA (Kayse Cole Budd, MD)

Integral Yoga is an integrative style of yoga formulated by the realized Yoga Master Sri Swami Satchidananda.  It combines various types of yoga (Hatha, Raja, Karma, Japa, Bhakti, Jnana) to create a healthy body, peaceful mind, and easeful, useful life.  Integral Yoga classes are spiritual in nature.  The focus of the class is on each student’s inward experience of self and spirit.  The entire class is viewed as a meditation.  Silence, acceptance, and awareness are used to relax the body and calm the mind.  The result is a peaceful approach towards yoga and life that is transformative, healing, and a powerful force for spiritual awakening.

Classes are 1 hour and 45 minutes long and include 45 minutes to an hour of asana practice (yoga postures), plus yoga nidra (deep relaxation), chanting, meditation, and basic yogic philosophy.

NISCHALA is Kayse's spiritual name, given to her by Swami Satchidananda and Swami Dayananda at her yoga teacher training in 2004.  It means "the steadiness" or  "unwavering".

FULL MOON YOGA RITUAL

This yoga class is a ritual-based and deeply spiritual in nature.  It includes elements from ancient and nature-based spiritual traditions intended to celebrate and honor the moon and her influence in our lives.  In the class, Kayse will speak on the astrological implications of the moon’s current position and guide the class in a ceremony of healing, purification, and reverence.  The class will be 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes in length and will include moon-associated restorative asanas, chanting, yoga nidra (“yogic sleep”-deep relaxation exercise), pranayama (breathing exercises), and seated meditation.   The entire class will be by candlelight, and students are encouraged to wear white and bring a small object that symbolizes purity for them.

JOURNEY TO YOUR CENTER:  An Experiential Exploration of the Mind-Body-Spirit Connection

Journey to Your Center is a multidimensional healing arts experiment intended to help participants deepen in their relationship to themselves. Participants will have the juicy and tender opportunity to learn their soul's language, know their body's gifts, and witness their minds with mindfulness meditation, depth journaling, heart poetry, expressive dance, embodied movement, gentle yoga, biofeedback training, guided imagery, and visual art expression (creation of a personal mandala image).

This course is taught in weekend workshop, bi-weekly or weekly class format.  Each class segment is two hours long and will cover a different mind-body-spirit modality.  The classes operate in a sharing circle format, with each participant is fully supported in his or her unique creative unfolding.  Classes are taught as a course with the same participants throughout the longitudinal experience. At the end of the course participants often have a deep sense of reverence for the mystery of who they are and a greater sense of joy, magic, and connection.

MYSTIC MOVEMENT:  The Dance of Your Spirit

Mystic Movement is a class Kayse designed to share her joy for expressive, healing movement with others.  The class is inspired by Gabrielle Roth, Shiva Rea, OSHO (Spiritual Master Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh), Qi Gong, Shamanism, and Kundalini and Integral styles of yoga.  It is an exploration of the liberating, healing power of movement.  In this conscious movement experience we will attempt to shake our solidity, our barriers to growth and change, the walls that block our deepest selves using embodied movement, dance, yoga postures, pranayama (breath work), chanting, and meditation. In our melting, we will endeavor to reach a place of inner balance and integration and from that place move to express our individual and collective love, light, peace, and joy.

The class can be taught on a monthly, bi-monthly, or weekly basis, or it can be a six week series with a different primary exercise taught each week. Workshop format is also possible.  Some classes will be by candlelight. Class time is generally 1.5 to 2 hours.

MOKSHA:  The Experience of Freedom that Rests at the Core of BEING

This program will take participants on a guided exploration of their inner worlds using gentle yoga, guided imagery, biofeedback training, expressive movement, dance, meditation, journaling, poetry, and visual art.  The program aims to bring students to a place body-mind-spirit harmony, peace, and balance.  The classes will foster a sense of grounded identity based in true passions, deep authenticity, creativity, uniqueness, a sense of wholeness, and radiant inner light.
