So, who are her
patients?
Dr. Budd is excited to work with open-minded and inquisitive individuals seeking balance and integration in their lives.
She states, "I have a particular passion for helping young adult/college-aged women,
especially regarding issues of self-esteem, body image, and eating
disorders. I consider it part of my life's work to serve young women
in their growth along the path of personal power and self-love
."
The
demographics of the practice are varied, with several cultures and
nationalities represented. Mystic Mandala Medicine patients are
diverse, but they tend to have a bit of Flair in common!
The gender breakdown is about 60% female and 40% male. Dr. Budd sees a number of college students, professors, and graduate students. A dynamic mix of artists and healers, nurses,
engineers, lawyers, fellow therapists, teachers, writers,
businessmen/women, and a few eclectic others comprise the rest. Other
than a few housewives/moms and retirees, patients at Mystic Mandala
Medicine are either employed or in school. (Stability is also a prerequisite for this type of work.)
Dr. Budd feels especially called to work with people undergoing or desiring transformation in their lives.
. This could include seeking freedom from eating disorders, addiction, obesity, limiting beliefs, anxiety, depression, obsessive thinking, etc. or going through a major life change
(pregnancy, adoption, infertility, birth, recent loss, addiction,
relationship issues, work dissatisfaction, cancer diagnosis or other
medical illness, etc.). Helping others improve their distress
tolerance, patience, and self-nurturance is a particular skill.
Dr. Budd prefers to treat the whole person, rather than think solely in terms of psychiatric (or other) diagnoses. However, she
has
found that her unique offerings blend best with patients who are
basically stable and
generally well (working or in school with some intact relationships).
Working with Dr. Budd is intense, and it is best if patients come
ready to take responsibility for understanding and
healing their lives.
Presently Dr. Budd is not prescribing benzodiazepines, opiates, lithium, or stimulants (Adderall, etc.).
**Along
these lines, severe mental illness, disability, psychosis, mania, and
acute suicidality are not areas of focus. Dr. Budd also generally does
not accept new patients with active legal issues or ADHD as a sole
presenting problem.**

definitely a prerequisite for working with me!"
